The floor is only one viewing surface. Workers also need to identify stock and labels on vertical rack faces. Tall or densely loaded racks can create shadows, so the lighting assessment should include the relevant picking levels and viewing directions.
Racked storage and picking aisles
Provide rack height, aisle width and picking levels. Review light on vertical rack faces as well as the floor, and account for the way stored goods cast shadows. Position fittings in relation to aisles rather than distributing them uniformly across the roof without checking the racks.
